Winner in the PDN PhotobookNYC contest, APA NY 1st place 2012, APA LA, Creativity International 2012 & 2013 awards, editor's choice for poptent spec commercial, among a few more awards, Samantha Isom, was Raised by parents documenting every waking moment of her life. She soon followed suit. During her time as a Music Major and Photography Minor in College, she worked at photos labs, worked on independent films, Photographed hundres of portraits and much more. After shooting for her Alma mater's publications, she went on to the commercial markets of Philadelphia, New Orleans, Chicago, Miami, then NYC where she spent some time as a photo assistant, Digital Tech & AC. She is now working in NYC as an image maker, having released her first short film in April 2013 (“Shy Man..”) and her 2nd film “Straight as an Arrow” in July 2013. In October of 2010, she published her 1st coffee table book titled “So, What Are You Anyway?”. A Photo essay of mixed race people and their experiences as such. She is working on other personal projects while moving forward in her commercial career.
A versatile image-maker whose still and motion photography are infused with realism, strength and integrity. She brings calm to the storm fun to the experience and sincere energy to all of
her projects. She aims to be one of the leading sources of engaging and empowering photography & video in the industry.
