#THEGREATESTRECRUIT
The mysterious supreme leader of North Korea, Jong Un Kim, used social media recently to try and recruit workers to his labour camps.
Over the years, tens of thousands of people have tried to escape from North Korea due to the extreme restrictions and poverty under the authoritarian government’s control.
Kim used a couple of job search sites to post bizarre descriptions about jobs in his labour camps. The job descriptions are telling of how oppressive the leadership is and the horrible human rights violations in North Korea.
On his twitter, Kim appears to be trying to solicit celebrities for roles in his regime.
This is a satirical campaign created by Part Time Lab to raise awareness about the refugees attempting to escape North Korea. The campaign is for a non-profit organization dedicated to North Korean refugees called Liberty in North Korea (LiNK). By using a provocative social campaign, the hope is that people stop and notice how atrocious the human rights violations are and direct them to where they can help. Liberty in North Korea has a donation page setup to help refugees, along with real stories from refugees.
Kim’s Job posting is on a number of job search sites and it will last for about a month. Kim’s twitter has more than 48K followers.
