Human-Hummingbird
Human-Hummingbird evolved out of a stained painting of a bird. It happened to look like a hummingbird so I went with it. There might've been a thematic social blogging influence here but it's difficult to pinpoint. The bird paintings seemed to emerge on their own (Spirit Birds). 102x76x5cm (40"x30"x2") - sides continuously painted and ptg is coated with a polycrylic semi-gloss finish." I painted 5 abstract stained bird paintings during a ten day period. This painting looks good next to the others. It is interesting to acknowledge how intelligent birds are and there unique origins. Forlorn But Not Forgotten, Human-Hummingbird, Cyclop Bird, Angelic Penguin, and Bird with Wing Up are part of this Bird Series. Only the black background (paint mixed with sand) was applied with a brush. The figure itself was stained and poured and thrown on the canvas carefully.
