Seabird
38"x47"x2." Acrylic and sand. The sides are painted in a wrap around manner. This painting was hand-stretched by the artist and coated with a polycrylic semi-gloss finish. This painting was part of the Metro Montage exhibit at the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art just outside of ATL. Seabird was influenced by the thousands of birds (especially red-winged blackbirds) which fell dead from the sky in January of 2011 starting New Year’s Eve in Beebe, Arkansas. This became a global phenomenon. Scientists speculate but there remains no definitive reason for the mass deaths. Recently there were mass deaths of pelicans and dolphins in Peru. Seabird is part of my Spirit Animal series. Available at https://www.saatchiart.com/art/Painting-Seabird/68/1399207/view
