Another A3 size graphite portrait. Elvis was great fun to draw. I love to get a good likeness but when the subject is as iconic as Elvis to features are already pretty familiar which made it all the more enjoyable to draw. I wanted to get a nice contrast of his soft features and the jet black slickness of his hair. I approached his hair with confident sweeping lines but was careful to have a clean page to lean on so as not to smudge the face.
