Driving down the Dallas freeway at 55 MPH, I noticed this young dude standing behind an old VW bug stopped in the middle of a strip mall parking lot. I thought,"Why was he standing there, scratching his head, looking at his car?" I took the next exit on the freeway, hurried back to where I saw the VW parked. As I turned the corner into the parking lot, the VW was now on fire, and the fire engine was 'rounding the opposite corner, rushing to get to the car and put out the fire! I grabbed my camera off the front seat, which I ALWAYS keep ready to shoot, jumped out of my car and ran toward the VW. Dragging a fire hose, the fireman reached the back of the VW a step before me, and as he raised the hose to put out the fire, I fired my camera just before he lowered his arm to spray the VW with water, getting just this one photo before the fire was extinguished.
