Lia Sáile is a German artist working in the Ruhr basin in Germany and in Vienna, Austria. She has finished her studies in Theater-, Film- and Media-studies in Vienna in 2009 with a diploma/master of philosophy (mag. phil.) with a thesis on the social, artistic, cultural, political and medial position of Polaroid film ever since its emergence until today.
In her artistic work she lately concentrates on Polaroid photography. She unfolds and utilizes the unique characteristics of analogue instant photography, expanding its conceptual and aesthetic qualities. Furthermore she utilizes super 8 and digital filming techniques for her most recent art work.
She has published her work for example in the renowned C International Photo Magazine, London as well as exhibited in the National Museum of Fine Arts, Malta and the Impossible Gallery,
